Ohio Ski Resort Adding Rope Tow To Its Terrain Park - Unofficial Networks

Mansfield, Ohio – If there’s one lift that defines the Midwest ski industry, it’s the rope tow.

The rope tow has become a favorite among Midwest terrain park skiers and riders for its ability to get in as many laps as possible (referred to as hot laps). It has become so popular that it is frequently requested among skiers and riders at destination resorts across the U.S., much to the dismay of whoever runs Big Sky’s Instagram page.

At Snow Trails in Ohio, they’ve decided to add the first rope tow lift for them and Ohio’s ski industry. As part of their improvements for the 2024-25 season, Snow Trails has added a rope tow to The Woods terrain park. Located on the far right of the ski area, this will give skiers and riders quick access to that terrain park. The rope tow will have a length of 600 feet and a vertical rise of 140 feet.

Other improvements at Snow Trails for this upcoming winter include nine new snowguns, new snowmaking wire and pipe replacement on the Mt. Mansfield trail, refurbishing ten snowguns, 28 new LED lights across their trails, West Woods Lift receiving a wire rope replacement along with a new base lift shack, remodeling Lucky’s Cafeteria, a fresh pave of the snow tubing parking lot, and various other maintenance projects.

Running a ski area, especially in the lower portions of the Midwest, isn’t easy, so you have to credit Snow Trails for all these investments that will make it well-prepared for the years ahead.
