BELT, Mont. - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) announces a detour on US Highway 87 and US Highway 89 near Belt. The detour will occur on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The closure is to accommodate a Montana Air National Guard training exercise. During the closure, traffic will be rerouted via Highwood Road and Belt Creek Road. MDT advises that there is a height limit of 14.5 feet on the detour route.

The Montana Air National Guard is conducting this exercise to build experiences working alongside other state and local agencies. This training ensures that the Montana Air National Guard and partner agencies are equipped with essential skills for emergency responses.
